City of Edinburg and Edinburg Economic Development Corporation Announce Plans for New Workforce Resource Center and Ebony Hills Golf Course Clubhouse

Edinburg, TX – The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC), in partnership with the City of Edinburg, is moving forward with plans to develop a new Workforce Resource Center at Ebony Hills Golf Course, located at 300 W. Palm Dr. The project will also include a new Golf Course Clubhouse.

Partially funded through EEDC bond funds, the Workforce Resource Center will provide critical resources to support the local workforce, connect residents with career opportunities, and include future office space to accommodate EEDC operations as they expand. The facility will also assist local employers by providing support services for recruitment, training, and workforce development. This project represents a strategic investment in both workforce advancement and community infrastructure.

“The Workforce Resource Center will be a hub for career development, local business support, and community engagement,” said Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. “Its location near the courthouse and central Edinburg makes it easily accessible and underscores our commitment to growing a skilled workforce while enhancing community spaces.”

EEDC Executive Director Raudel Garza added, “This project combines economic development, workforce empowerment, and recreational amenities in one location. The new clubhouse and multipurpose spaces will complement the Workforce Resource Center, creating a facility that serves residents, businesses, and visitors alike.”

The Ebony Hills Project Includes:
  • Construction of a new clubhouse which includes a new cart barn
  • Development of multipurpose space, featuring offices, a Workforce Resource Center, and meeting areas
  • Demolition of existing facilities
  • Enhancement of existing parking areas

The architectural and design style for the project will be further refined in coordination with the EEDC Board and the Edinburg City Council as part of the planning process. The EEDC will engage a construction management services company in the near future to oversee project implementation. This initiative is part of the 2019 Bond Project approved to enhance community facilities and resources. Further details will be shared as the project progresses.
