Construction officially started this week on the latest addition to Edinburg’s growing healthcare industry: Driscoll Children’s Hospital Rio Grande Valley.
According to a story published in The Monitor, Driscoll and DHR Health are investing approximately $100 million in the new hospital, creating more than 500 new jobs when the eight-level facility opens in 2023.
The total economic impact of the project is expected to be approximately 1,000 new jobs and $57 million in earnings for the local economy.
