Edinburg Children's Hospital
The first of its kind in South Texas, Edinburg Children's Hospital features a four-story pediatric tower, a dedicated pediatric emergency department and specialty pediatric services. The hospital treats children from birth to 19 years of age and features a kid-friendly, comfortable atmosphere.
Edinburg Regional Medical Center
The four-story patient tower is licensed to operate 127 beds on floors designated for medical, telemetry and surgery. The hospital is fully equipped and technologically advanced yet small enough to give you the individual attention you need.
Edinburg Regional Rehab Center
The Edinburg Regional Rehab Center offers inpatient rehabilitation services to help individuals restore their abilities to their highest potential. A Center features a team of rehabilitation professionals, who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation to ensure patients get the right services to aid in their recovery.
South Texas Behavioral Health Center
South Texas Behavioral Health Center offers exceptional behavioral health care programs and treatment services for children, adolescents, adults and older adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Standalone Emergency Care Facilities
Edinburg has two new STHS standalone emergency room facilities. Both facilities provide 24-hour emergency care services year round and are staffed with the same medical personnel and equipped with the same diagnostic technology available in STHS’s hospital-based emergency rooms.
Doctors Hospital at Renaissance
Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (DHR) is a 500+ bed physician-owned health system that offers some of the most comprehensive medical care on the U.S. Southern Border. From general acute care services and graduate medical education to individually-tailored wellness and preventative health programs, at DHR over 650 physicians and more than 1,200 nurses dedicate themselves to offering a full continuum of care in over 70 different sub-specialties.
DHR was accredited as Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation becoming the only institution in Texas to receive such accreditation.
Doctors Hospital at Renaissance also offers the Edinburg CISD School Based Health Center, a primary care clinic that is strategically located within the Edinburg school district. This allows for timely access to a provider that can diagnose and treat most minor conditions. The Edinburg CISD School Based Health Center is staffed by a team of skilled physicians, nurses, counsellors, and other healthcare practitioners. In addition, Edinburg CISD has collaborated with Doctors Hospital at Renaissance to ensure that those who use the school based health center’s services also have access to a much larger system of health care.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine was awarded a $3.75 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration to develop three Area Health Education Centers.
The Area Health Education Centers will help provide healthcare to underserved areas throughout the Rio Grande Valley including Edinburg.
Additionally, the UTRGV School of Medicine announced its plans to open a pediatrics clinic in Edinburg. The 9,000 square foot facility located at 4150 Crosspoint Boulevard will include 27 exam rooms, which include eight pediatric exam rooms and one procedure room.
