The Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley Welcomes New Wave of Retailers
Edinburg, TX — Edinburg’s reputation as the Rio Grande Valley’s fastest-growing city is attracting major national brands, and the momentum is showing up in a big way at The Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley.
Located at the intersection of Interstate 69-C and Trenton Road, the popular retail hub is welcoming a wave of new tenants, many of them opening their first-ever Edinburg locations. Budget-friendly retailer dd’s DISCOUNTS opened its doors on June 27, 2026, occupying a renovated 30,000-square-foot space. Kerrville-based jeweler James Avery opened its first Edinburg location in March, investing $500,000 into a beautifully transformed storefront. Bath & Body Works is preparing to open next, with Edinburg’s first-ever Olive Garden restaurant currently under construction on the property as well.
The growth extends beyond retail. A 100-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel, a $10 million development spanning 70,000 square feet, is also under construction immediately north of the plaza, with potential for residential development on the broader site. National brands are taking notice of Edinburg, and this is just the beginning.
