The City of Edinburg kicked off the holiday season with the annual Night of Lights Parade, which took place on Friday, December 1. More than 70 entries were registered, with floats from a number of local organizations driving past onlookers down University Dr. The parade, which began at the UTRGV parking lot, traveled down University Drive before ending at the Hidalgo County Courthouse. From local school marching bands, to dance teams and prominent local figures, it was a night to remember as Edinburg celebrated the start of the Christmas season with food, fun and excitement.
Each year, the Night of Lights celebration begins with the lighting of the city Christmas tree. The event has become one of Edinburg’s most attended events, and the Edinburg EDC looks forward to taking part in next year’s celebration. Stay tuned for a list of this year’s winners!
